How do you charge for cloud hosting services?

We charge hourly, monthly or for MB of traffic – depending on the solution you’ve chosen.

Is bandwidth free between cloud servers?

Usually it is, unless you want to use a public IP.

Are there any limits for using technologies and content management systems on cloud hosting?

In general – no, but each particular cloud hosting provider can have some. The most common solutions like Joomla!, WordPress, Drupal, OSCommerce etc. work well on any cloud hosting. Speaking of technologies, there might be some difficulties wit .NET 4, but it all can be resolved.

If there’s no traffic to my server, do I still have to pay for it?

In most cases – yes. That happens because your files and applications are stored on server even if you’re not using them. But the benefit of cloud hosting is its scalability – you can easily add or remove applications. For instance, when you’re removing a testing server, you don’t have to pay for it anymore.

What is the difference between cloud servers and dedicated servers, if both of them use physical hardware?

The difference is in turnaround time and costs. You can get a new cloud server in minutes, while dedicated server deployment takes much more time. In addition, cloud servers cost less and don’t require strict contracts and setup costs.
